The 70th Primetime Television Emmy Awards has just concluded, but the excitement over the winners continue. While Game Of Thrones and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel stole the thunder from everyone else, and the fashion police went around to find out the best and worst dressed of that star-studded night. Now, in a world where outer beauty is fast becoming inconsequential, and repeating dresses are becoming common, we don’t have a worst-dressed list per se. But we did find our favorites from the red carpet for you. If you missed watching the awards this year, you can definitely find a consolidated list of each winner on all major news websites. So here are the rest who stole our hearts on the red carpet with their sheer glamor and presence.
Tracee Ellis Ross
Daughter of famous singer Diana Ross, Tracee Ellis has surely made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. She was nominated for her role in Black-ish. Though she didn’t win the award, she made sure to turn several heads on the red carpet with her stunning pink Valentino Couture. Despite its huge volume, Tracee managed to rock the off-shoulder look seamlessly. She kept the rest of her makeup quite light as the dress was the cynosure.
Jessica Biel
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake have already flooded Instagram with their cute pictures and funny captions from the Emmy Awards. But amidst all that, we did notice Jessica’s flawless gown which looked straight out of a fairytale wedding. The off-white Ralph and Russo gown looked great on her, and she kept her wavy hair down and went for minimal makeup with just pink lips. Those who have their weddings lined up must take a cue from her. She was nominated for her role in The Sinners.
Thandie Newton
Finally, someone who not just wowed everyone on the red carpet, but won the award, too!Westworld got Thandie Newton her much-coveted award. Pink seems to be the color of choice this year, and Thandie arrived in a pink one-shoulder number by Brandon Maxwell. But unlike Tracee’s voluminous gown, this one was all sleek and edgy. The gown hugged her body perfectly, and the long train (or should we call it sleeve?) made it all the more dramatic. Her sparkly earrings and clean hairstyle made her one of the favorites on the red carpet.
Vanessa Kirby
Vanessa Kirby of The Crown fame got a nomination for an Emmy but didn’t win it. However, she has already proven her acting prowess on the sets of the TV show where she plays Princess Margaret. She appeared for the awards night in a blush, structured Tom Ford gown, and the temperature out there must have risen as she stood and posed for the cameras. While the gown doesn’t have any dramatic angle, it is the lack of extra pizzazz that makes it hotter. Vanessa carried a nude clutch, glittery earrings on her ears shone, and her slick hairstyle complemented her whole get-up.
Allison Janney
The Emmy For Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Role went to Rachel Brosnahan from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but Allison Janney got a nomination for her role in Mom. Her sparkly purple gown was probably the most gorgeous outfit on the red carpet that evening. Designed by Prabal Gurung, the gown came with a thigh-high slit and a dramatic sleeve, going by the trends of the season. While her clutch and shoes were all purple making her look like royalty, her green earrings and dark eyes made the whole look perfect.
Poppy Delevingne
Ruffles are the flavor of the season, and Poppy Delevingne took it to another level by wearing a pastel mint green gown by Giambattista Valli. The frills and ruffles successfully made Poppy look all fresh, fun, and girly. Her hair looked beautiful with the twin bows that reflected her dress somehow. Overall, a very refreshing look on the red carpet.
