There are several fun games to play to help you continue your bond with your friend or family members, even if you are far away. There are various ways you can bond with your buddy even if you are not close to each other in proximity. Facetime, Whatsapp Video, or Skype – choose your medium and have loads of fun. These games are suitable for most of us. Of course, you need to change them according to your age or the attention span of your buddy.
Bonding Time
This is one of the best games to enjoy and get connected with your buddy’s everyday life. Discuss with them about your latest activity and show them something about it. It can be anything, right from a new toy – a Lego creation – a dance move, and artwork, to something as simple as a great heart-shaped rock you found at the park.
A Fun Game
Almost any fun game will do. Just choose your favorite board game and you are all sorted. Set up the board on your side and move the pieces. You can choose Pictionary with a stack of cards on each side and then zoom the camera on a paper or a whiteboard as you begin to draw. When it comes to fun games on Skype, you will be spoiled for choice as there are games such as Tenzi, charades, even some card games. Adapt in a way that you can see and hear each other.
A Game of “I Spy”
Playing ‘I Spy’ on a video call is as easy as it is fun! Use a portable device so that you can take it around the house or yard. Ask your friend to either look up, look down, look to the left, look under the table, or whatever. Basically, give him/her instructions with hilarious conclusions.
Play a Crossword Puzzle
Doing a crossword puzzle together can be a whole lot of fun and educational too if you want. Just read the clues and ask your buddy to recognize the words. You can enjoy these with three or four people and the one who guesses the most words correctly gets a reward.
Have Fun With a Dance Party
This isn’t a game per se, but you can make it fun and all games if you want. Just put on any music and enjoy dancing. Set your gadget in a way that you can spot each other as you show your moves. You can take the fun quotient up a notch by enjoying paper dancing. You know as you fold the paper each time the music stops and how you struggle to dance on the piece of paper as it gets smaller and smaller.
Make a Snack Together
Baking or cooking is all the more fun when you do it together, even if you are far away from each other. Choose a recipe that is easy to make and enjoy together. This way both of you will learn all new recipes and with time perfect your cooking skills too.
Play Instruments Together
This activity may need both of you to have a skill and hone it with time. But it is a fun practice nevertheless. Also, if you are learning something, this may turn out to be a great opportunity to practice together. You’ll get time to practice as well and together is better as strumming a guitar alone may not always be fun. Choose from a variety of instruments such as guitar, piano, ukulele, harmonica, or even some drums. Get your creative hat on and enjoy your own jam sessions over calls.
Play Hangman
This game is everyone’s favorite and not without good reason, it qualifies as one of the most fun games to play over Skype. You can cater this game to whatever your buddy and you agree upon. For instance, it can be states and capitals, you can have the name of the state and then have them guess the name of the capital of that place. Or you can just describe a word and ask your friend to identify the word.
You can try many games over the phone or your chosen gadget and almost feel like you are playing the games sitting in the same room. Let’s just say, distance cannot affect the fun quotient in any way!
