Magic Johnson and Cookie Kelly – Together Since 1991

Legendary “IT” couple, Magic Johnson and Cookie Kelly now celebrate 28 years of their amazing marriage. Despite being plagued with so many hurdles the couple has remained strong giving people relationship goals. They first met in 1977 and started dating. Cookie and Magic married in 1991 at Lansing, Michigan. Shortly after their marriage though, Magic was diagnosed to be HIV positive which rocked the whole world, including his relationship with his wife. Cookie Kelly wrote a memoir entitled “Believing Magic”, where she shared how she was affected by the news.

She said that it was like “personal hell.” She was pregnant during that time with their first child. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Cookie said that there was a time in their marriage that she almost gave up and wanted to get a divorce because Magic was always busy and did not have time for their family. But despite it all, Cookie says that they were meant to be and are still madly in love with one another. Cookie and Magic have 2 children, EJ and Elisa.
